GACKT held an event for the release of his 44th single "P.S. I LOVE U" on the 11th, and said that this song with the theme "last words to the person you love" was inspired by MALICE MIZER's late drummer Kami-san.
GACKT presented a video of him visiting Kami-san's grave and parental home. GACKT put his hands together for a long time in front of Kami-san's grave and said, "He was the member closest to me, we were like brothers". GACKT said that he always visits Kami's home every year on Kami's birthday as well as his death anniversary. He also revealed that he told Kami-san's parents, "I was able to write a good song this time. The 'stage' is about to begin.". He continues: "Even after 15 years... Mysteriously, I still can't get over it.".
"I'm not trying to take Kami's place in the lives of his mother and father, but the least I can do is give them courage, hope, and that strength to keep on walking forward. 'Then let's do our best'. That's what I think everytime I come here." By this time, there were sniffs and sobs being heard in the audience. At the end of the video, he said, "Accomplishing the things that he himself wanted to do one by one, I think, is my way of expressing joy and gratitude towards them.".
GACKT also said, "I've been starting to think that people who still live on in the hearts of people are still alive. The people who have already left this world are still living inside of me. Because of that, I have been able to deliver smiles to someone.".
