Because the anime's over, are you dumb?
That's how "booms" are
So what was the college arc all about?
Because it's over. It's actually still pretty popular as it is.
Because the main characters have already graduated. The kouhai characters aren't standing out as much too.

Well, for one thing, the original writer just gave up on it.

But she still tried to continue the story even after she made them graduate, right?
It's much more rare for something to continue after it's already finished
The only thing I can say is because it was nothing more than a "boom"
Well, they did wrap it up pretty well in the movie
http://nplll.com/assets/2011/12/k_on.jpg
Perhaps the otas had difficulty playing instruments
They should just do a middle school arc instead
I honestly don't think that the college arc was necessary. Instead, they should've given the kouhai arc more volume.

The otas were so annoying.
It was produced by Kyoto Animation so the bandwagoners unconditionally got into it. It was also helped by the fact that it had no essence at all, and that there were no boys whatsoever.
The fact that it's still being talked about proves that it's still alive
The university arc which felt like they forced to include so they can link it to the movie version didn't give off a good impression. I think that there are quite a lot of people who got turned off by that.
Because the original was unbelievably boring.
Well yeah, "booms" will eventually come to an end
Because the characters graduated from high school. For some reason, the college arc just fails to make one excited.
I just witnessed how amazing Kyoto Animation can be after reading the original manga. Like "How were they able to make something like this out of that shi++y original!?".
It's already enough if you can last for 2 years. When you exceed 2 years, it's either you become a "brand" like PreCure, or fall to pachinko.
It's an anime which you don't know where the appeal lies in. In the end, it's just targeted towards one's genitals so of course it would fade.
Fading away is just appropriate for this. Things like Gundam which are just continuously haunted by the ghost of its past are just gross.
Because it's basically an empty anime. It's not something that will be talked about for generations to come.
If it really was popular, then it would have continued on. People have been talking about how K-ON was the "in" thing, but I've never watched an episode of it.
Just having a thread like this is good enough
It's the emergence of Love Live's fault. All the other animes have just become a thing of the past due to Love Live coming out. Everything, from Idolmaster to K-On to Haruhi, and even Shingeki no Kyojin.

No way.
In the end it was nothing more than a tool that was used to make profits and to attract the eyes of people
Why K-ON lost
- Only Season 1 was good.
- They didn't need to split Season 2 into 2 parts.
- Because the 5th member (Azu-nyan) was unnecessary.
- Mugi-chan's thick brows were unnecessary.

Come to think of it, there was also Lucky Star. It's really tough if the content isn't good too. The characters alone aren't enough to make something survive.
It actually made all the casual fans watch anime at the same time. And it ended as they categorized K-ON as moe~ anime.
Booms refer to something momentarily exploding in popularity so that's just natural
So have the people who walked around with guitar cases at one point already grown tired of it?

I still see quite a lot up to this day. You can actually say that it's become a staple.
K-ON, that's so nostalgic
Haruhi → K-ON? → Magica? →
Whatever people say, kimo-otas seem to only look at the drawings
The guys who kept saying that this was a social phenomenon and that it's a classic that can be enjoyed by everyone have disappeared. Where are they now?
The fans moved on to other animes, of course. To ones that have the potential be called a classic, or that can be enjoyed by everyone.
K-ON boom? Wasn't it just the fact that Kyoto Anime was abnormally overhyped at one point in time?

The number of female highschoolers carrying instruments increased because of this anime, but are they still practicing their playing?
It's a moe anime, but I remember that the ratio of girls inside movie houses was extremely high

I do think that its influence on the youth is actually much bigger than what we imagine. This anime was obviously a turning point of sorts. This just made a whole lot more girls like the anime world, and Akihabara.
