Jin Akanishi (29) left his agency at the end of February and is currently working as a freelancer. He has had a few projects like providing songs for a Korean group, but he has practically had a lot of free time since going independent, and has reportedly been drinking with his friends until late at night and goes home to a hotel room, as his relationship with wife Meisa Kuroki (25) was seemingly on the rocks.

"Meisa-san still had a lot of job offers even after her maternity leave, but Akanishi-san hasn't been working, nor taking care of their baby, and just kept getting drunk day in and day out... Because of the husband acting like this, there was a time when she would let her parents back home in Okinawa take care of their baby when she would have to leave their home for an extended period of time for filming." - (Meisa's acquanintance)

It won't be a surprise if the gap between a bum and a busy, in-demand working mom widens because of this, and they did seem to be heading towards that direction, but there were reports that Akanishi's stance has changed, probably because he witnessed how cold his wife can be. This was in late March, in a studio within the city where Meisa was filming her scenes.

"It was Meisa's shoot, but Akanishi-san was also in the studio for some reason. He was in Meisa's dressing room the whole time, taking care of the baby. He would hold the baby up high, wipe off her drool, and even feed her baby food using a spoon... He was totally an ikumen*. (laughs)" - (Showbiz staff)

"They also looked like they had a lot of fun conversations during breaks from the filming."

The two were also spotted in mid-April at Minami Aoyama. 

"They must've been coming home from shopping, and Akanishi-san was carrying all the grocery and shopping bags. It seemed like he couldn't go against and face Meisa-san properly anymore..." - (witness)

When Akanishi left the agency, he commented, "I want to be more active with my international career", but it appears that he doesn't even have a manager yet, and it can't be said that he's started off his new career on a fine note.

"Akanishi-san probably can't even have a proper living right now if he breaks up with Meisa. He must've come to the conclusion to be a 'house-husband' until his own career gets back on track." - (Meisa's acquaintance)

Mr. Johnny insists: "I have not met with him. We didn't even talk on the phone.". On the reason why Akanishi left, Johnny said, "All he wants to do is pursue his career in the US", pointing out that this is different from Johnny's policy of giving more emphasis on their activities within Japan. He also gave his understanding that "It's just natural for one to do whatever he wants to do". Shun Oguri and Meisa Kuroki alone in a private room at an izakaya!?

March 11, at an izakaya in a local residencial area. Shun Oguri (31) and wife Yu Yamada (29) live 3 minutes away from the place. 

Late at night, past 11, Oguri, together with two actor friends were in a private room in the basement where they were also able to enjoy karaoke. A woman then entered the room at the stroke of midnight. She was wearing a blue-knit hat and a red checkered flannel shirt, paired with a long skirt. This was Meisa Kuroki (25).

The store normally closes at 2 in the morning, but the people in the private room did not seem like they were going to finish any time soon. A regular customer comments: "The staff of the place tells us regular customers: 'We're about to close soon...', but they never did that to Oguri-san and Meisa-san. When I asked a frequent customer, he told me that these celebrities don't have that much time to go drinking at bars, so they receive special treatment at this place.".

At 2:40 in the morning, the store's signboard lights went out. A staff took out the trash and the shop owner started clearing up. There were also other celebrities at the bar who joined Oguri's group, but this other group went home at a little past 3. The only ones left in the place were Oguri, Meisa, and their two common friends. But these two friends went ahead at 4 in the morning, leaving Oguri and Meisa alone in the room.

The two have worked together in the two Crows Zero movies. They have reunited once again this year for Lupin III which will be shown in summer.

Oguri and Meisa who were left alone did not leave the private room for another hour. At 5 in the morning, Meisa finally left and got into a taxi. Oguri exited a few minutes later and walked home to his and Yamada's home.

The unit where Meisa went home to was entirely dark. Akanishi wasn't home, and her daughter must've been left with her parents.

This insider continues: "It's a given that he wants to become an artist in the US, but he's also aggressively thinking about collaborating with other US artists and making music as well. Not just that, he's also revealed that he intends to run a club or a bar in LA where even his friends can hang out."

Akanishi got married to actress Meisa Kuroki (25) in February 2012. They have a daughter who is now about 1 and a half years old, but he definitely needs to consider them as well if he plans on moving to the US.

"It seems that Kuroki-san is getting irritated at how her husband doesn't seem to have a direction in life. Her husband has always insisted that he wants to live in LA, but she will be having a drama in April and has several other projects lined up after that, making her schedule packed for the year. 47RONIN an unprecedented box-office bomb in Japan?

A movie writer comments: "Considering the scale of the release and all the fanfare surrounding it, I don't remember any other movie flopping as much as this in recent history. I think this is unprecedented..." 

According to Kogyo Tsushinsha's report, the movie 47RONIN which premiered last December 6, amassed a total of JP\ 152.48 million in the box office, with an attendance of 77,894 for the first 2 days over the weekend, ranking 6th for the week. 

The figures alone will give one the idea that it's not doing bad at all, but this movie is being shown in 333 cinema houses, 753 screens nationwide -- a massive scale.

Applying simple math to this means that only 100 people went to watch per screen during those 2 days. That's 50 people a day per screen, and if the movie is shown 4x a day, that's just 12 people watching every time it's showing.

And to back these figures up, people who went to watch the film posted comments on Twitter and various forums like: "Holy crap!", "Vacant seat-fest ongoing!", and pictures of all the vacant seats were also uploaded, with some even saying that "the cinema is reserved for me alone."

"This movie is based on Chushingura, but given a fantasy twist where Tengu goblins and sorcerers are running all about. Keanu Reeves plays the role of a fictional character named Kai. It's pretty hard to understand, right? Even I myself don't know what kind of movie I'm talking about here." --(s/a above)

The Japanese cast is nothing short of extravagant, with names like Hiroyuki Sanada, Rinko Kikuchi, Tadanobu Asano, Kou Shibasaki, and ex-KAT-TUN member Jin Akanishi taking part in the movie. Keanu and Asanobu et. al. made their rounds on variety shows and promoted for the movie, but...

A member of the media who attended the press conference comments: "I think Jin Akanishi's presence didn't help their promotions. As we all know, Johnny's has limitations for their talents appearing on WEB contents. Even in the presscon which Akanishi took part in, they had to take him off the stage first before the WEB media photographers could take their photos, which took too much time as they had to separate it from the paper publications and TV shots. Even Keanu looked lost amidst all the commotion because of that".

If this continues, the movie might not even earn JP\ 500 million, a far cry from its budget of over JP\ 20 billion.

Artist Jin Akanishi was on the episode of SMAPxSMAP shown on the 25th. He was in BISTRO SMAP, the main segment of the show, together with Keanu Reeves and Kou Shibasaki, his co-stars in the movie 47 Ronin.

Akanishi looked back at his first Hollywood role and said: "It really was a valuable experience". All his lines were in English, and Nakai poked fun at Akanishi who previously went to the US to study the language by saying: "So how was it speaking in English? Artist Jin Akanishi is featured in the December issue of VoCE. It has a long interview, spread across 6 pages.

Akanishi wore a black suit in one picture and a cable knit top in another, and sealed his smile -- seemingly straying away from his idol persona.

He talked about the time of his hiatus up to his comeback, as well as his new song "Ainaru Hou e". He also revealed some stuff about his solo works while he was still with KAT-TUN.

Akanishi, the man who stayed true to himself as he continuously broke the "taboos" of being an idol by studying abroad, leaving his group, and getting married... When this topic came up, Jin commented: "I think I've been gradually trying to destroy this 'something' for quite some time now, it's not like I was trying to go up against these so called 'taboos' ". "Hey What's Up?" is his first single in 1 year and 5 months. Jin Akanishi wrote the lyrics and composed the song himself, with the themes "summer", "party", and "Tokyo" in mind. the concept of the video is "the whole of Tokyo will turn into a party".

The video is directed by Kenji Maruyama. The director's other works include music videos of AKB48, SKE48, and Nogizaka 48.

As a penalty for not informing his Agency, his nationwide tour was cancelled, and he was dropped from the drama that he was supposed to star in.
