"Hey What's Up?" is his first single in 1 year and 5 months. Jin Akanishi wrote the lyrics and composed the song himself, with the themes "summer", "party", and "Tokyo" in mind. the concept of the video is "the whole of Tokyo will turn into a party".
The video is directed by Kenji Maruyama. The director's other works include music videos of AKB48, SKE48, and Nogizaka 48.

「HEY WHAT'S UP?」PV
I've been a fan even before he made his debut, but I'm not really going insane.
He did say that he wanted to get married and have a kid.
I've already gotten used to Jin pushing us fans around.
He's that kind of a man, but I like him so it can't be helped.
Jin is the unconvential type too.
Meisa should just support his private life.
Because we'll be supporting Jin's Music=Soul.
And that soul will be handed down to my children, then from my children to my grandchildren.
That's how my DNA will blend in with Jin's.
That's the "Eternal" between Jin and his fans.
I don't know, I find it corny how people are so hung up in thinking that anything related to overseas and the English language is cool.
Sorry to say this, but Akanishi really seems dumb, he must think that he's really cool since he can speak English, but almost everyone now can speak the language to a certain extent. (related post HERE)
The whole TOKYO will become Eternal
I listened to the song and it was meh

The 3 mentioned are almost similar. Nothing else?
Him and Manabu Oshio seem similar to me...
Jin Akanishi LOL
A himo (man who lives off the partner's earnings).
Contrary to his public image, 2channel's residents already associate him with Eternal.
To think that the only path he has left is to work as an "ikumen talent" (hands-on father talent), he even neglected that.
Tough luck for Meisa Kuroki for getting stuck with this guy.
Hurry up and go on your US-wide tour LOL US-wide ww

I won't say they're exactly the same, but the directing kinda feels similar
An electronica track, huh? LOL
Since it's summer, I probably would've listened to this track if he featured a female reggae-style rapper on it.
Well, he's still from Johnny's so it would probably be impossible.
It seems Korean.
Johnny's let their artists wear weird costumes and sing weird songs, so it's good that he was able to do something that he wanted.
I find it pathetic that he's trying to imitate the Americans in this day and age.
This isn't good (´・ω・｀)
He and Tomohisa Yamashita are the 2 masters of corny-ness.
Well, it's actually one of the better ones visually to come out of Johnny's, but it seems like he's headed towards a weird path...
Meisa Kuroki appeared in Shabekuri, but it seems like she's forbidden to disclose anything about their private life. Well, I guess she'll talk about it when the right time comes.
This is corny
This is overwhelmingly corny
It feels like a total rip-off of Justin Bieber's video.
I really got goosebumps.
But I'm actually envious of how he seems to be getting the wrong idea...
I really do wonder if this guy still has fans though.
His mere existence, and everything he does, just seems so pitiful.
Even if he sings songs like this, those who'll follow him will just be his fans from his KAT-TUN days. Why is he acting like a foreign artist?
- イクメンは卒業かSo he's done being an ikumen? (Related post HERE)
He's too American-ized, it's boring.
If the song sounds too American, then I'd just rather listen to American songs.
Those people are much, much better singers anyway.
The directing feels like a total rip off.
It's at a level where they should be cornered and made to apologize, like that Champagne one a while back. (Related post HERE)
So his release is on the same day as the Southern All Stars', huh? I wonder who'll get 1st place. (Related post HERE)
Are you guys seriously comparing him to K-POP...?
His singing is worse than K-POP, the video is even a rip-off of that shorty Biba-tan.
He's got a kid and is approaching 30, what does he plan on doing? ww
The MV and song both feel like Justin Bieber + will.i.am divided by 3.
I think his worshippers will be all over this, so that's good for him.
I still commend him for getting out of a group to throw stability away and for being able to speak English. I don't know about the song, but doing what you want to do is the thing that's important. But you can't really praise him since he still caused everyone around him a lot of trouble.
I thought he deteriorated, but that doesn't seem to be the case. No matter what people may say, I think he's still up there to follow after KimuTaku's footsteps. The other Johnny's members just get old too suddenly.

I want him to come up with a new song called ETERNAL next
I thought he said that he'd focus on his activities in America. What happened to that?
So nowadays people will call you corny when your music is too heavily influenced by the Western style, huh
- サザンに勝ったらみんな認めるだろ ここが赤西の正念場だ
Everyone will acknowledge him if he beats the Southern All Stars. This is do or die for him.
As usual, what a narcissistic PV... Must be his way of showing how unsatisfied he is with being a house-husband.
But even if you're not a fan, you'd still feel that the KAT-TUN after he left is like the Mabo Tofu dish without any tofu in it.
Because he's Eternal
