The "monster drama" HERO which got 30% for all episodes broadcast in 2001 is coming back. When they were talking about making a sequel, Kimura said: "I was like, 'You've got to be kidding me'. It's been a long time and I never thought that they'd do this again. I would be lying if I said that I'm not feeling any pressure from this.".

His jean-wearing character Kohei Kuryu, an unorthodox prosecutor has aged as well. Kimura said that he didn't change the way he's portraying the character but said "with more experience under his belt, I felt that the character shouldn't be rough-edged as he used to be".

It may seem like he's always taking the long route, but Kuryu's prosecution style is as relentless as ever. "He's not really efficient. But I'm thinking that this attitude of ignoring your ego and desires is alright, especially for someone who decides whether a person should go to trial or not.".

When asked about what the viewers should look out for, he said: "Well, there's not a single person here who has special abilities in this one, but I hope people will understand the meaning of the title HERO".

Q. The World Cup still isn't over. Do you like soccer?
A. Cho suki desu. I did some martial arts when I was little, but if I had the chance to choose what to do, I would have wanted to play soccer. I'm from the Captain Tsubasa generation, so I wore jerseys in the same manner, and albeit unnecessary, I'd shout 'Deyaaaa!' whenever I would kick the ball.

A. Guys like Argentina's Messi and Brazil's Neymar. They may be a whole lot younger than me but I think they're unconditionally cool. That's true with all sports athletes in any field. I can't choose them all."

Keiko Kitagawa to be turned into the scapegoat if KimuTaku's HERO flops? (TouSpo)

Actress Keiko Kitagawa (27) will be appearing as the heroine in Fuji TV's new Monday-9 drama HERO which will start on July 14.

Takako Matsu previously played the role of the leading lady in HERO, where Takuya Kimura (41) plays an unorthodox prosecutor, in both the 2001 series and the 2007 movie, but passes on the title to Kitagawa this time around.

"Kimura and Kitagawa have already been together in a Monday-9 drama 4 years ago, in Tsuki no Koibito, so they're already familiar with each other. Kitagawa said that she didn't watch too much TV 13 years ago because she was busy with her high school entrance exam studies, but watched HERO religiously. She's actually happy to be part of this production." - (Fuji TV staff)

But there are also some concerns about this, as her previous project Akumu-chan The Mu-vie was a huge flop.
  "One of the biggest reasons for this is that it got crushed by the mega hit Frozen. Despite all the efforts they put into promoting the movie by casting Momoioro Clover and making Keiko Kitagawa join them in a time-exclusive unit "Kimo-Kuro Z", the movie still didn't do too well. Kitagawa has already emerged into a star from her generation of young actresses, and is said that she potentially has 8.3% of ratings with her. But she was at 10.5% a year ago, so there's also this feeling that she's already past her prime.

And if this drama flops, there's the danger that Kitagawa will be turned into the scapegoat.

Zawachin updated her blog on the 10th, a day after her "SMAP makeup" was featured on SMAPxSMAP's popular segment Bistro SMAP which was aired on the 9th and expressed how grateful she was for all the praises and nice comments that she has received.

TOKIO were guests at the May 23 episode of Music Station. During the chit-chat portion before their performance, a 19-year-old viewer asked them this question.
At times, they would plow the fields. They even went around Japan in a solar car, and even delivered packages. They reclaimed an island, and built a house. More recently, they've started to make ramen (from wheat). Farming, engineering, delivery, and being a band. They'll be at the summer festival, and of course they'll still be in dramas.

This has been a long-running theme and joke on the Internet, but this question has finally been thrown into their faces. All the members got a kick out of the question, as the leader Shigeru Joshima beamed and said,
"We're idols!"
Thus, putting an end to the debate as to what TOKIO really are.

TOKIO -- Idols who are capable of doing anything.
And their program which has allowed them to do so, The! Tetsuwan! DASH!! (NTV) has consistently been topping the ratings.
In one of the more recent episodes, Leader forgot to put a hole on the floor for the ladder of the little funaya that they were building and got depressed. But Masahiro Matsuoka accepted that mistake and moved on, to which Leader felt touched and started to cry. Even Tatsuya Yamaguchi sympathized with him, as they all cut a hole through the floor, which made Matsuoka excitedly say, "Hey, let's turn that into a chopping board!". This series of events showed their friendship with one another, as this episode got over 20%.  
Their popularity and likability with the regular household is amazingly high. But the funny thing is, despite actually being idols, their CD sales are the lowest within Johnny's.

According to the current issue of Shukan Josei, Inohara's "Asaichi castle" spans 300 sqm, with 2 floors and a basement. He started having his house renovated to prepare for the birth of his second child with wife Asaka Seto (37). The living, dining, and kitchen which were on the 2nd floor have been moved to the 1st floor as they are having a new children's room created.

And the reason why they can afford to have their home renovated is because of his prosperous career. Asaichi has consistently been running away with the ratings compared to the other programs in the same time slot, as Inohara's popularity has been soaring up high.

"The salary at NHK is much lower compared to what others are getting at commercial networks. Inohara only earns \800,000 per episode which isn't a lot, but that still amounts to 4 million a week and 200 million a year. He's also in a number of commercials which net him 1 million to 5 million per appearance. Jin Akanishi stays behind in Meisa Kuroki's dressing room and takes care of their baby (Josei Seven)

Jin Akanishi (29) left his agency at the end of February and is currently working as a freelancer. He has had a few projects like providing songs for a Korean group, but he has practically had a lot of free time since going independent, and has reportedly been drinking with his friends until late at night and goes home to a hotel room, as his relationship with wife Meisa Kuroki (25) was seemingly on the rocks.

"Meisa-san still had a lot of job offers even after her maternity leave, but Akanishi-san hasn't been working, nor taking care of their baby, and just kept getting drunk day in and day out... Because of the husband acting like this, there was a time when she would let her parents back home in Okinawa take care of their baby when she would have to leave their home for an extended period of time for filming." - (Meisa's acquanintance)

It won't be a surprise if the gap between a bum and a busy, in-demand working mom widens because of this, and they did seem to be heading towards that direction, but there were reports that Akanishi's stance has changed, probably because he witnessed how cold his wife can be. This was in late March, in a studio within the city where Meisa was filming her scenes.

"It was Meisa's shoot, but Akanishi-san was also in the studio for some reason. He was in Meisa's dressing room the whole time, taking care of the baby. He would hold the baby up high, wipe off her drool, and even feed her baby food using a spoon... He was totally an ikumen*. (laughs)" - (Showbiz staff)

"They also looked like they had a lot of fun conversations during breaks from the filming."

The two were also spotted in mid-April at Minami Aoyama.

When Akanishi left the agency, he commented, "I want to be more active with my international career", but it appears that he doesn't even have a manager yet, and it can't be said that he's started off his new career on a fine note.

Toma Ikuta and Nao of Maximum the Hormone caught walking hand in hand by FRIDAY

Johnny's actor Toma Ikuta and Maximum the Hormone drummer Nao were caught holding hands by FRIDAY, which has led to cheers and applause from Maximum the Hormone fans.

FRIDAY's May 30 issue published an article titled "Toma Ikuta had a drink with married drummer Nao of Maximum the Hormone and had a romantic night as they held each other's hand". After having food and drinks at a restaurant, the pair held each other's hand and went to a park one late night.

Nao is married and a mother of a one-year-old kid. It would be a huge problem if they actually have a serious relationship, but Ikuta has been known to be a passionate "Harapeko" (Hormone fan) and has been close friends with the band members for a while now. Nao herself laughed off the allegations and insisted that they're just friends.

Ikuta's fans might be having a hard time swallowing this report, but the other Harapekos are having a blast, as some Twitter comments say: "ROFLMAO! Tomoya Nagase visited the house of his 'violinist girlfriend' during the Golden Week (Josei Seven)

TOKIO's Tomoya Nagase (35) was caught visiting the home of his girlfriend, Ms. Violinist 'A' (29).

Ryusei Fujii of Johnny's WEST exposed for sexual assault and underage drinking/smoking!? (Bunshun)

Johnny's WEST member Ryusei Fujii (20) reportedly brought a 20-something woman from Osaka into a hotel, demanded her to drink alcohol, and sexually assaulted the woman; as revealed by the victim herself on the May 1 issue of Bunshun.

Johnny's WEST is a 7-member group who just made their debut on April 23 with the single "Eejanaika".

Fujii was a minor aged 18 at the time of the act but was seen smoking and drinking in the picture that is published by Bunshun. A wasted Fujii also destroyed the woman's cellphone with his bare hands on the same day.

Johnny's Jimusho is known to be strict with underaged members who drink and smoke. Bunshun tried to obtain comments from the Jimusho but got no response.
