Q: "Everyone in TOKIO, what exactly do you do?" → Shigeru Joshima: "We're idols!"

1: れいおφ ★@\(^o^)/:2014/06/03(火) 15:20:06.65 ID:???0.net
"Everyone in TOKIO, what exactly do you do?"

TOKIO were guests at the May 23 episode of Music Station. During the chit-chat portion before their performance, a 19-year-old viewer asked them this question.
At times, they would plow the fields. They even went around Japan in a solar car, and even delivered packages. They reclaimed an island, and built a house. More recently, they've started to make ramen (from wheat). Farming, engineering, delivery, and being a band. They'll be at the summer festival, and of course they'll still be in dramas.

This has been a long-running theme and joke on the Internet, but this question has finally been thrown into their faces. All the members got a kick out of the question, as the leader Shigeru Joshima beamed and said,
"We're idols!"
Thus, putting an end to the debate as to what TOKIO really are.

TOKIO -- Idols who are capable of doing anything.
And their program which has allowed them to do so, The! Tetsuwan! DASH!! (NTV) has consistently been topping the ratings.
In one of the more recent episodes, Leader forgot to put a hole on the floor for the ladder of the little funaya that they were building and got depressed. But Masahiro Matsuoka accepted that mistake and moved on, to which Leader felt touched and started to cry. Even Tatsuya Yamaguchi sympathized with him, as they all cut a hole through the floor, which made Matsuoka excitedly say, "Hey, let's turn that into a chopping board!". This series of events showed their friendship with one another, as this episode got over 20%.
Their popularity and likability with the regular household is amazingly high. But the funny thing is, despite actually being idols, their CD sales are the lowest within Johnny's.

Gravure idol Anna Konno: "I still take a bath with my younger brother; I still hug and kiss him"

1: れいおφ ★@\(^o^)/:2014/04/15(火) 17:48:36.55 ID:???0.net
Gravure idol Anna Konno (24) was at Sofmap in Akihabara for the release of her latest DVD Anna Oneechan (\4,104).

Konno started out when she won the Nittelegenic 2012 award and has seen heavy exposure in magazines and TV ever since. This 10th DVD of hers, which was shot in Saipan in November last year, has a theme of Anna as the older sister enticing the viewer who is the "younger brother".

Konno dazzled the media by wearing a bikini for the event. She commented on the DVD: "I played the role of a naughty sister who would entice her younger brother." "Watch out for the part where I'm wearing a school uniform. I don't get to wear one anymore due to my age, but my wish has been granted. I wore a sailor outfit and blew into a recorder. It's been a while since I played a recorder so I wasn't able to do it well (laughs)."

When she was asked about her relationship with her actual brother, she said: "He'll be in 4th grade this coming school year, but I still hug and kiss him. We also get into the bath together, so it's pretty much the same as this.".

℃-ute's sexy pole dancing criticized: "Are these girls strippers?", "Too indecent"

1: れいおφ ★:2014/04/11(金) 13:08:35.60 ID:???0.net
Pole dancing is a form of performance art centered around a vertical pole, but is still strongly associated with strip clubs.

Hello! Pro idol group ℃-ute recently tried their hand at pole dancing but was met with dissatisfaction from a lot of their fans. It looks like idol fans are not too excited about steamy performances.

℃-ute's 2014 spring concert tour ℃-ute no honne kicked off at the Gotanda U-Port Hall in Tokyo, and the digest of their first show was featured on Hello! Pro's YouTube original program Hello! Sute (station).

Members Saki Nakajima (20) and Mai Hagiwara (18) danced on the poles for their song "Crazy kanzen na otona". Other members Maimi Yajima (22), Airi Suzuki (19), and Chisato Okai (19) performed on the steps set up on the stage.

Wearing black shiny tops with their navels exposed and skimpy bottoms, Nakajima and Hagiwara proceeded to wrap their bodies around the poles and even spread their legs open. The remaining three members sported hats similar to police hats and would sit down on the steps and caress their thighs.

Nakajima and Hagiwara commented on this within the program and said, "We discussed the moves with sensei and trained hard for a month", but there seems to be quite a number of fans who are not pleased with this.

YouTube's comments section have mixed reactions, with some saying, "So cool!", "I couldn't help ogling at this", while others have said, "Is this a strip show or something?", "It's nice that they're trying something new, but I'm not digging the skimpy outfit and dance routine...", "No matter how you turn this around, this performance is just trying to sexually entice the fans. I'm not too sure if idols need to go to this extent to emphasize their sex appeal.", "I feel it's such a waste that ℃-ute has to resort to cheap and indecent things like this. These girls can surely take others on with their natural and fresh sexiness...".

Hello! Pro previously had a sexy group V-u-den, which had ex-Morning Musume Rika Ishikawa as a member. They were known for their bunny girl costumes and chair dances. There was also a time when Maki Goto started wrapping herself around a mic stand during a concert, reminiscent of a pole dance. And needless to say that some fans criticized those antics as well.

TOKIO performing at this year's SUMMER SONIC, how are they as a rock band? "They have already exceeded the level of idols long ago"

1: 2014/03/21(金) 09:39:31.73 ID:???0
On their 20th anniversary, Johnny's group TOKIO has been invited to participate in this year's SUMMER SONIC festival (August 16, 17 in Chiba and Osaka), as well as the Join Alive festival in Hokkaido on July 19 and 20.

Major foreign acts such as the Arctic Monkeys, Megadeth, and Pixies will be performing at this year's SUMMER SONIC festival. TOKIO will be drawing in the attention, but how good really are they as a band? Music writer Fuyu Shogun writes:
"TOKIO has had a long career as a band, and I think that they have already exceeded the level of [idols holding instruments
just because it was the 'in' thing] long ago. Drummer Masahiro Matsuoka has established a reputation for being stable and consistent, especially singer/guitarist Tomoya Nagase, who is also known for being a guitarist with great taste as his gear has even been featured in Guitar Magazine. He has in his possession a lot of vintage guitars from Fender, Gibson, Gretsch, and even has the top-of-the-line 'private stock' models from the brand PRS -- limited edition guitars that real guitar players would kill for, and enough to impress any guitar collector and enthusiast. There's even an anecdote that he placed a personal order to Fender's master builder, the person who creates Eric Clapton's guitars. And what's amazing about him is that he just doesn't keep these guitars for his collection, but actually uses them at concerts. When he plays the guitar, he doesn't lengthen the strap to lower his guitar, but actually plays it pretty high up his body, and actually looks cool doing so. Every time I see him on TV, I'm impressed at how he can play such difficult riffs while singing at the same time. Even Kobukuro's Kentaro Kobuchi-san vouches for Nagase's playing skills, after getting to know him through a vintage guitar shop."

"As for their song pieces, TOKIO have been collaborating with a lot of big-named artists since 2006. Miyuki Nakajima provided them with "Sorafune" in the same year, Yoshihiro Kai gave them the song "Hikari no machi" and "Run free (Swan dance wo kimi to)", while Tsuyoshi Nagabuchi provided them with the song "SEISYuN". They're essentially a rock band who eagerly challenges and incorporates Japanese folk song elements into their sound, which also adds to the "passion" and "manliness" of their songs. If people can just do away with the prejudice that TOKIO is from Johnny's, then I think that they do deserve  to be recognized as a band."

This is a huge challenge for TOKIO. It will be very interesting to see how the people will be receiving them among all the other big-named acts at the festival.

Fairies resorting to "hugging" their fans!!?

1: セプウムφ ★ 2014/03/08(土) 00:04:33.92 ID:???0
7-piece dance/vocal group Fairies' fan service is generating some buzz on the Internet for reportedly 'getting out of hand'.
Fairies is an idol group with an average age of 15.6 years, hailing from the same agency that spawned talents such as Namie Amuro, MAX, and SPEED, and was put together under the concept of "a talented group which can break the international barrier". Their debut single "More Kiss/Song for You" released in September 2011 ranked in at #11 on the Oricon weekly charts and won the USEN's Best Newcomer award in November. They also won the Best Newcomer award at the 53rd Japan Record Awards in the same year with an average age of 13.6 years, making them the youngest winners ever.

A showbiz writer comments about the group: "Their record company AVEX spent a huge amount on them when they made their debut, as if to make them take the footsteps that SPEED once took. They had a considerable amount of commercial deals and even had their own radio program just one month after their debut. By April of the following year, they launched their own TV program Harajuku Kirakira Gakuin and everything looked set for them. However, it seems that they have struggled to capture fans due to their agency's overly conspicuous method of pushing for them, together with the fact that their songs and dances were too stylish.".

The group released their 7th single "RUN with U" just last month and will be releasing their first album Fairies in the 26th of this month. However, some people seem to have been shocked at Fairies' fan events lately.

The same writer comments: "Male fans [sic] uploaded pictures of the meet- and-greet event on Twitter, and the idols seem to be allowing their fans to hold hands with them like lovers, and even hug them. This has led to other idol wotas commenting, "Wow, they're hugging male wotas? Such a turn-off", "So this is what has become of them for not being able to go the orthodox route......", "Poor members", "To think that Fairies were so talented...". There are other idols who get much closer than this with their fans such as BiS and Erena Ono, but a majority of idols do not allow fans to even touch them. This has shocked a number of idol wotas and left them disillusioned with Fairies who used to take the more common, orthodox route.".

This event is scheduled throughout the month for fans who have preordered the album. Fans who have ordered 2 or more copies of the album are allowed to have their pictures taken with the members. Will Fairies be able to catch a huge break just as their seniors SPEED have?

TOKIO fans are so lucky...

They can easily get concert tickets.
Even if you tweet that you got a ticket, you won't get arrested.
Dramas with TOKIO members are mostly hits.
They've got a super-duper popular Sunday night program that will still keep on running for a long time.

Masaharu Fukuyama: "Some people have been searching 'Fukuyama ghost writer' on the Internet these days"

Hello everyone! We have changed the format of our posts as 2channel now has a "no transfer/copy" policy. In accordance with this, we won't be posting the numbers nor the Japanese text anymore, only the translations. We will still be including a link to the original thread at the bottom of the post for your reference. We would like to apologize for any inconveniences this may cause. Thanks!

Masaharu Fukuyama talked about the ghost writer accusations being thrown his way recently on his radio program.

Fukuyama has announced that his 11th original album -- his first in 5 years --titled HUMAN (2-disc), will be released in April this year. And 2 songs from his upcoming album which have already been released digitally have ranked 1st and 2nd in Recochoku's Chakuuta ranking for 2/19~2/25.

But a lot have been questioning if Fukuyama really has the capacity to write all these songs despite all his drama and movie roles. There was also an incident when Keisuke Kuwata of Southern All Stars joked on his radio program Keisuke Kuwata no Yasashii Yoasobi (TOKYO FM) that "of course, everyone has a ghost writer. We even have that in Amuse". Again, he insisted that this was a joke, but did mention Fukuyama's and BEGIN's names, which has led to further speculation.

Fukuyama seems to be aware of these allegations as he talked about this on his radio program Fukuyama Masaharu no All Night Nippon Saturday Special - Tamashii no Radio (Nippon Housou), revealing that "there are people who have been searching [Fukuyama (space) Ghostwriter] on the Internet these days".

He emphasized that he even played almost all the guitar parts on his upcoming album and how he was very particular about the minor details and fine tuning until the very end.

There are a lot of singer-songwriters rumored to have ghost writers following the Samuragochi incident, and people were expecting an avalanche of revelations to come, but a lot of the truth is still left in the dark.

Keiko Kitagawa forms a special unit with MomoClo Z... "KimoClo Z"

Actress Keiko Kitagawa (27) will be forming a special unit with idol group Momoiro Clover Z for the upcoming Akumuchan Special (NTV, this spring). This unit will be called KimoClo Z.

She will be showcasing her singing and dancing skills for the first time with this drama-only unit. Her image color is "black", and will be wearing the same mini-skirts as these idols who are almost 10 years younger than her. She even joked that "Doing something like this (at 27) may actually be an 'akumu' (nightmare)... but it feels like I came back (to the time of my debut)", citing her acting debut with the TBS live action drama Sailor Moon.

MomoClo hail from Stardust Promotions, the same agency as Kitagawa's, and they have this to say about her: "As expected of the 'STAR' in Stardust, she really is different from the rest!". When asked if she would consider teaming up with MomoClo outside of the drama, Kitagawa says, "I'll think about it if I become the most popular member here", and grins. The other members all panicked and went, "Oh no! Oh no!". Akumuchan will also be having a movie which will be coming to theaters on May 3rd.

Kanna Hashimoto and Rev. from DVL to make their CD debut

1: 三毛猫φ ★ 2014/03/02 13:51:56
Kanna Hashimoto (15), the "one-in-a-thousand prospect" and "angelic idol", and her Fukuoka-based idol group Rev. from DVL will be releasing their debut CD on April 16 with the help of Yoshimoto Kogyo.

The group formed 4 years ago in Fukuoka and primarily performed at local live houses. But after a fan uploaded Kanna's picture on the Internet from a show in May last year, 2channel immediately took notice and called it a "miraculous picture". Since then, the live footage of their performance at Asakusa Hanayashiki has been played over 2.5 million times on YouTube. Their agency's homepage also went down due to too many people accessing it.

Yoshimoto, who took notice of this popularity, offered to let the unit make their debut under the label YM3D. Kanna comments: "I respect AKB-san and MomoClo-san. I don't intend to lose to any other idol around the nation, but I consider myself as my main rival. I hope we can make it to the Kouhaku in 2 or 3 years' time.".

AKB48 to form a new "Team 8", to kick off in March and make their theater debut in August

1: ベジータφ ★ 2014/01/23(木) 21:11:46.19 ID:???0
AKB48 announced that they will be forming their 5th team called "Team 8" at the presscon prior to the AKB Request Hour Setlist Best 100, held on the 23rd of January. The new team will not consist of trainees and existing members. Instead, Fuji TV and the various TV stations from the 47 prefectures in Japan will hold a nationwide audition, as 1 representative from each prefecture will form the group (A total of 47 people).

AKB has always had the concept of "idols you can meet", but this new team will be "idols who will come to meet you" as they will be travelling around the nation to meet their fans.

They will be kicking off their activities at Akihabara's AKB48 Theater, and will be making their rounds to perform all around the nation, and increase the amount of provincial tours. This "come to meet you" concept is supported by Toyota, a first time for AKB where a team will be fully supported by a corporation.

General Manager Minami Takahashi comments: "AKB48 definitely needs to inject some fresh, new blood. I want girls to try and make that step forward and grab this opportunity. Together, let's all deliver smiles to the people". Team K captain Yuko Oshima comments: "As we will literally be gathering the best from all over the nation, I hope this will help rouse up Japan as a country".

Member "X" of a male idol group suspected of drug use (TouSpo)

1: かばほ~るφ ★ 2014/01/22(水) 11:51:11.62 ID:???0
Despite recent arrests of Kiichiro Wakayama and wife Ryo Hitomi in November of last year, it is said that drugs is still in abundance within the entertainment industry.
According to a showbiz insider: "If it's just on the level of pot, it's probably being used as much as liquor. Celebrities are basically elitists, and always seem high... It's like they have no sense of danger at all".

TouSpo has also caught information that a certain member "X" of a male idol group is obviously under the influence of drugs.

"This was when he was at this long TV program in the summer. When X becomes sleepy, he'll silently go behind the set and start sniffing on the stuff. A TV staff said that 'he'd wake up with this. That's seriously no laughing matter...' And aside from 'X', there's also talk that 'Z' from the same idol group uses shabu."

According to an investigator: "Popular female celebrity 'A' who used to go out with Z also used drugs, but actually the pusher who sold these substances to all of them has already been arrested by the police. And this person has already talked about A and Z to the police".
