Shota Matsuda & Emi Takei in the Monday-9 drama "Umi no Ue no Shinryoujo"

Shota Matsuda will be starring in Fuji TV's new Monday nights at 9 drama which will start in October, Umi no Ue no Shinryoujo (Clinic above the sea) as a playboy doctor on a medical ship. He will be playing a comedic role, Kota Sezaki, an excellent doctor who falls in love with various patients as he visits the various islands around the Seto Inland Sea, yet gets turned down all the time.

Emi Takei will be playing the role of a rough and spirited nurse who will be his partner at work. This will be her first time as a heroine on the Monday night at 9 slot.

This drama draws inspiration from the actual medical ship, the "Saiseimaru" that goes around the Seto Inland Sea. The drama will be close-ended per episode as Sezaki's object of  affection will change with each episode.

Matsuda comments: "I will be playing the role of a funny doctor so I'm really excited. I hope to establish a close friendship with the cast and the staff as we shoot on these isolated islands."
Takei comments: "It's a character that I have never played before so I'm really excited. I'm looking forward to seeing how my character will develop along with Matsuda-san's Kota as the story progresses."

Yumi Adachi has apparently stopped living together with Speed Wagon's Jun Itoda (40) and has started a relationship with the photographer of her picture book Photographer A.

Yumi Adachi's picture book Shiseikatsu (Private Life) will be released on September 2, and has been in the making for over 2 and half years in her own private home and in Hachijojima.

"All the photoshoots were done almost entirely in private without informing her agency. Her manager wasn't with them as well. There were a lot of instances when it was only her and the photographer inside her home" - (Publication officer)

"Most gravure photographers are smooth talkers and are very enthusiastic, but Mr. A is the silent type who shows concern towards his subjects. Yumi-chan has always respected him even from the when they started shooting. She finally decided to go semi-nude around March of last year, and Yumi-chan has apparently given her full trust to him. She said, 'I'd be able to show whatever side of me to that person'." - (Adachi's acquaintance)

Two years after their divorce in 2009, Adachi and Itoda got back together in September of 2011. But it has been reported that they had stopped living together in May of 2012.

When asked about Mr. A, the agency answered, "A-san is just our acquaintance at work". Even Mr. A denies this, saying, "We're not together. I just meet her when it's time to work".

Ringo Sheena has just celebrated the 15th anniversary of her career, but there have been no reports about her marriage nor of giving birth. Sheena previously has a son with her former husband, guitarist Junji Yayoshi, in 2001. The couple parted ways in 2002.

Kazuya Kamenashi went on a trip with a "blonde beauty" (Shuukan Josei)

The current issue of Shuukan Josei reports that KAT-TUN's Kazuya Kamenashi (27) went on a secret overseas trip with a blonde beauty.

The magazine posted a picture of the two which was apparently shot last August 19 at New York's JFK International Airport. The magazine describes the woman as someone who "had the same feel as a Hollywood actress", and the pair were apparently talking in English. There have also been eyewitness reports of Kamenashi at Disneyland on another day.

But the magazine did not imply any romantic relationship, as a showbiz insider comments, "I don't think they're an item".

Kamenashi was previously rumored with Kyoko Koizumi, Aya Omasa, and Anne, among others.

AKB48's Yuko Oshima has been cast in Takuya Kimura's October drama Ando Lloyd ~A.I. knows LOVE?~.

Oshima will be playing the role of Nanase Matsushima, a physicist and assistant professor, who is the younger sister of Kimura's character Reiji Matsushima, a university professor and genius physicist.

Other cast members are Kenta Kiritani, Tsubasa Honda, Sayaka Yamaguchi, Jesse (Johnny's Jr.), Mizuki Yamamoto, Yuta Hiraoka, Yuko Natori, and Kenichi Endo.

Honda will be playing the role of the android Suppli, who also comes from the future. Yamamoto will be playing the role of Matsushima's lab assistant Kaoru Kuriyama.

Neon Genesis Evangelion's Hideaki Anno and Kazuya Tsurumaki help out with the concept and scenario, while the scriptwriting will be handled by SPEC and Keizoku's Yumie Nishiogi. The drama will begin in October, Sunday nights at 9 on TBS, taking over Hanzawa Naoki's timeslot.

Actress Erika Sawajiri, together with photographer Mika Ninagawa, attended a LOUIS VUITTON event  in Tokyo called Timeless Muses.

Ninagawa uploaded their picture on her blog in which Sawajiri was wearing a hat, posing with her finger on her mouth.

Fans were happy to see Sawajiri as she has rarely been in the media these days ever since her movie Helter Skelter was shown in July last year.

Tao Tsuchiya has been cast to play the part of the "swordswoman" [sic] Misao Makimachi in the two upcoming sequels of Rurouni Kenshin--- "Kyoto Taika arc" and "Densetsu no Saigo arc".

Tsuchiya made her debut in 2008 in the movie Tokyo Sonata and has mostly been playing "bishoujo" roles to this day. She reveals that she "has always been a fan of Jackie Chan's and Donnie Yen's action scenes". She also said that last year's first movie was "so amazing, I couldn't get up from my seat".
