Gundam F91, right?
Shin Getter, when the body got squeezed out, when it's arms got cut off by the final Getter Tomahawk, and got demolished by Shin- Shine Spark with its core exposed
Has to be Chamber-san!
Kenran Butosai's Kibo-go
Just like Chamber-san, mechs that rest in the depths of the seas really look nice.
Ingram (manga version)
The process of how Ingram, the T-2, and T-800 got destroyed was also beautiful
It just stopped functioning, though.
The Gipsy at the beginning of Pacific Rim was also wonderful
Wing Zero Custom
I don't care if I'm called a bandwagoner, but Wing Gundam Zero (EW).
Despite being exposed to enemy fire, it maintained its position and kept shooting with pinpoint accuracy. In the end, it couldn't even withstand the recoil of its own shot and gets englufed in flames...
I don't think people will agree with me, but it's Gundam Spiegel and Endless Waltz's Wing Zero
If we're not limiting ourselves to anime and manga, then it has to be the Terminator sinking down with a thumbs up
EVA unit 02
I think that 02 which got pierced by all those mass-produced EVAs was artistic.
Objections... are welcome.
EVA-02 (old movie version)
If you include the pilot, then it's either White Glint or YF23
The artistic destruction of 00 in the ending
The double O on Gundam 00's ending
Chrono Trigger's robo
Build Strike Gundam
The 1st episode was a a real shocker
Asgard of Wild Arms ACF
The final stand is definitely the most cliche of them all
I cried while watching that episode
The part where Lancelot picked up a bloody Euphemia, proceeded to punch Guren nishiki, and its fingers got destroyed
Has to be Gunbuster after all
More than a beautiful type of destruction, I prefer it when the robots go at it and slowly get destroyed in the process, like Strike vs. Aegis
Full Metal Panic's Laevatein
Laevatein's was good
Blue Magnolia's last was sad
The end of 00 in the movie version
Nirvash type THE END
It just got destroyed too soon after its awakening
GP01's got destroyed beautifully when its heavy armor got bombarded.
The robot battle program they did towards the end of last year, Tetsujin 10-gou.
Match start → Can't move due to malfunction and gets beaten up by the opponent → Doesn't look like it's moving and loses by TKO → Pilot gives up and puts the remote control down → At that moment, it takes a step and makes a strong punch (late reception of orders during the match?) → loses balance, falls down and gets destroyed due to the impact.
It lost in the actual match, but I almost cried due to how beautiful its aftermath was.
I'd say Freedom
I also think that Freedom was cool
Freedom's the only one I can think of
* Freedom and Impulse which was almost destroyed
* Providence which totally got annihilated with the genesis after getting stabbed by a beam saber
Anyway, Shinkiro's was the lamest one
I like how one robot emerges from within another robot.
Like the Black Sarena.
Why isn't anyone mentioning Mazinger Z?
Gurren Lagann's was pretty good too. It wasn't that pretty, though.
Xenosaga's COS-MOS also looks nice.
Mercy, I guess
"I do not have the ability to jump. Despite knowing that..."
You know, there's this Mercy robot. Mercy. The robot which waits for the main character at the Dime Tower. That guy's amazing. He can decipher the characters on the stone tablets and can even replenish the main character's MP. It can also fire beams and even throw the main character away. Amazingly high specs!
But you know, that robot doesn't have the ability to jump wwwwwwww It said: "I do not have the ability to jump" wwwwwww "We'll meet again someday" wwwwww
The Guymelef which Duke Freid operated on Visions of Escaflowne. It got dismantled so splendidly, you wouldn't think it was a TV series anime.
Sandrock had a pretty good death.
On the other hand, Deathscythe had a horrible and unreasonable end.
Geno Breaker which collapsed after reaching its limit for firing charged particle beams at the Death Saurer
Shining Gundam's the one I like
I liked IBIS from AC.
It was an AI which finally fulfilled its duty after being destroyed by humans.
Aren't there any robots that desperately tried to protect a base, and managed to do so but got totally destroyed in the end?
I think there are quite a few, but I can't seem to remember any.
Optimus Prime in the movie
Such a moving sight! The machine stays as is, but the pilot shall die!!
Volkein, but also because of the guy riding it
Getter 1 which was operated by Musashi in Shin Getter vs. Neo Getter
新型機開発の時間稼ぎの為にムサシが単独で出撃して敵の軍団を足止め、 ボロボロになりながらも戦い最後は敵を巻き沿いにして自爆とか 壮絶過ぎるラストだった
Getter 1 of the manga version of Getter Robo
Musashi deployed alone in order to buy some time for the development of the new unit, then self exploded to take down the opponent with him. That death was truly tragic.
GM cold districts type
Still no mention of Astro Boy up to this point
If we're fine with games, then TFV's Guardian Knight.
It's hard to ignore King Kittan
I cried when Katoran died, though
I'm not sure if you can call this a robot, but the Steam Castle in Steam Boy.
I strongly felt the creator's efforts in how it gradually got destroyed despite being so tough and durable.
The objective has already been carried out by her... Everything is according to my scenario.
All that's left is the enemy's curtain call...
Please let me leave behind proof...
The proof that I lived on.. as Raven!
Go watch the part in Super Robo Wars when Bardios gets destroyed.
It's really the best.
Still no mention of V2 Gundam up to here
The Laputa robot.
The way it protected Sheeta was really beautiful.
Manga version GP03
Zakii and Alex
Tell me it isn't so Barney...
Still no mention of Riruru? What the hell is the color of your blood!?
A lot of people talk about the machines that just "whittle away covered in moss as the war has ended", but I do think that robots should be destroyed during the battle scenes, since they are robot animes after all.
Words cannot describe the beauty of weapons that get destroyed after serving their purpose
