Isn't the place too small?
So titans will be appearing from the sea?
And then it won't have the French countryside feel to it anymore, and will be based in apartment ruins...
No matter how you think about it, it still doesn't match the setting of the story.
Are they really going to change stuff? It would probably be better if they would shoot in a European town instead.
I'm gonna renovate every single one of them buildings
There weren't any high-rise apartments like these in the manga, right?
The tallest were only about 5-story tall buildings.
There wasn't any concrete in the first place.
Only feels like a huge flop to me, even before they start...
Will it look like cyberpunk or something?
The image is...
So what will happen to the setting???
The movie staff might mess up these ruins.
They should make sure to return it to its beautiful form.
It would probably be better if they shot in Europe and just composited the stuff back here
I see. So Isayama was a ruins maniac, huh w
But I'm touched when I see Gunkanjima on Google Maps, it really looks interesting.
So are they really going to abandon the medieval setting of the original?
Then I guess casting Japanese won't be an issue then.
But if you do that, then it will never be loyal to the manga.
This is for Shingeki no Kyojin and not Higanjima?
So they won't use 3-dimensional maneuvering gears, and just hide in the ruins instead?
I like Gunkanjima. I've gathered quite a lot of images of it, and it's totally uninhabited with a really nice mood to it so I do think that it's an amazing location to film in.
I also like Shingeki no Kyojin. I started off with the anime, though, but I think the actions and the impact of the titans all lived up to the hype that surrounded it.
But I really don't know how to feel about Shingeki no Kyojin filming in Gunkanjima.
The setting is too different. It's supposed to be set in a European medieval town surrounding a castle, and this just looks like some Japanese people trying to intercept titans who will be coming from the sea.
It's shaping up to be an entirely different thing already... Well, I'm fine as long as it'll be good.
Don't tell me it'll be based entirely in Japan
Film the thing in France's Carcassonne
Just make everything original in the live action and don't use any of the manga characters. Then I'll watch.
Rather, why didn't they just make an animated movie? (ノД`)
And with the main character a Japanese, then I think it would really be much better if they made an entirely different storyline and world setting instead. I would have gone to a movie house and watched if they invested in making an animated movie, though...
But he's not playing the role of Eren.
They'll probably make this an entirely different era without the original characters.
How many Japanese-like characters appear in this manga again?
Only one who's Asian, and that's the heroine Mikasa.
But this really doesn't feel right. So there won't be any walls like in the original, and they're going to make a story of a human race who has survived in a far away land instead?
Can people actually live in those buildings on Gunkanjima?
The tokusatsu scenes looked pretty good so I'm looking forward to this. It'll be impossible to stay faithful to the original, so I'm fine with original aspects instead.
