GACKT held an event for the release of his 44th single "P.S. I LOVE U" on the 11th, and said that this song with the theme "last words to the person you love" was inspired by MALICE MIZER's late drummer Kami-san.
GACKT presented a video of him visiting Kami-san's grave and parental home. GACKT put his hands together for a long time in front of Kami-san's grave and said, "He was the member closest to me, we were like brothers". GACKT said that he always visits Kami's home every year on Kami's birthday as well as his death anniversary. He also revealed that he told Kami-san's parents, "I was able to write a good song this time. The 'stage' is about to begin.". He continues: "Even after 15 years... Mysteriously, I still can't get over it.".
"I'm not trying to take Kami's place in the lives of his mother and father, but the least I can do is give them courage, hope, and that strength to keep on walking forward. 'Then let's do our best'. That's what I think everytime I come here." By this time, there were sniffs and sobs being heard in the audience. At the end of the video, he said, "Accomplishing the things that he himself wanted to do one by one, I think, is my way of expressing joy and gratitude towards them.".
GACKT also said, "I've been starting to think that people who still live on in the hearts of people are still alive. The people who have already left this world are still living inside of me. Because of that, I have been able to deliver smiles to someone.".

I don't think the younger people now knew that GACKT used to be a member of MALICE.
And that they were once called the ultimate visual kei band.
バカバカしいパラパラダンスも含め感涙もの
The combo of Syunikiss and Gekka no Yasoukyoku was the best.
Everything about it was so moving -- including the silly parapara dance.

There was a time back in the day when my friend showed a video of this in his house, but I remember feeling totally in awe of Gackt playing the piano while the drums were sounding.

The drumming isn't bad.
The piano is pretty good for an amateur.
Kami's drumming was amazing
ma cherieもいい
Malice = "Gekka no Yasoukyoku", but
"Au Revoir" and "Le Ciel" are clearly the better songs.
"Ma Cherie" is good too.

The other members said, "Those guys (fans) will buy it no matter what kind of song we release", which made GACKT mad.

That was the background given to them.
A lot of visual bands applied similar setups.
Though this isn't MALICE, there was one agency who made it seem like their members were long-lost brothers who met each other again by chance.

It does feel like Gackt and mana are at war.
Both probably had strong egos that clashed with one another.
I personally hated both, but I like kozi.
