They must have targeted the release in a very low-level week for movies, that even Conan on its 5th week could still have gotten first.

前田の演技上手くは無いだろ
喜怒哀楽の演じ分けが少なく比較的簡単な暗めの役ばかりやないか

Maeda isn't that good of an actress.

She doesn't do too much emotional transitions and only does relatively simplistic dark roles.

純粋で何も知らなかった中学生の頃に観たリング以上の恐怖は映画じゃもう味わえないだろうな
ホラー映画はガキの頃に観た作品が衝撃（トラウマ）作＝名作になるだけのような気がする

I think that I won't be able to experience any kind of fear that will surpass the one that I felt after watching The Ring anymore. I watched it when I was clueless and was still in junior high, but I think that the horror movies that people watch in their childhood days are the ones that leave an impact -- rather trauma -- leading them to think that these are the classics.

欲を言えば、｢誰だ？あんた｣みたいな無名の役者のほうがより怖くなっていい。

I think so too.

It's been a while since Hideo Nakata did a dark horror flick, and anyone could have played the part.

I actually would have preferred it if they used an unknown actress instead. I think that would have been much scarier.
