Ex-AKB48 Kaoru Mitsumune appears in public again after 1 year

Former AKB48 member Kaoru Mitsumune was at Tokyo Kokusai Forum on September 3 for the completion screening event of ATARU: The First Love & The Last Kill. This was Mitsumune's first public appearance since attending the completion press conference for Joshi Camera in August last year.

Masahiro Nakai, AKB48's Haruka Shimazaki, and Mitsumune went on stage in front of 5,000 people in attendance and commented: "I'm really happy that they allowed me to be a part of this once again!"

This is the movie version of the hit drama ATARU, which was shown in 2012. Mitsumune played the role of Yui Ishikawa, a staff of the Criminal Identification Division, which was her first time in a serial drama. She then graduated from AKB48 due to her poor health conditions in October and was not able to participate in the SP which was shown in January of this year.

Mitsumune expressed her happiness about being part of the movie and said: "I just couldn't stop crying at one point (while watching the screening). It doesn't matter if I was in it or not, this has become one of my favorite movies. I'm really happy to be able to share this experience to everyone in attendance".

The stage was filled with the extravagant cast: Kazuki Kitamura, Chiaki Kuriyama, Yuta Tamamori, Maki Horikita, Hiroaki Murakami, Seiji Chihara, Yasuhi Nakamura, Ken Shonozaki, Masaya Nakamura, Hiromichi Miyoshi, and director Hisashi Kimura.
