When a detective, doctor, or teacher is the main character of the drama, no matter how horrible the ratings may be that it's good enough to get cancelled, they would put twists at the end like moving to a new workplace, or shuffle positions, shuffle classes, etc., and make it seem like there will be a sequel coming up.
Example:
Drama ○× Gakuen that got an average of 4.3%
Former student A: "That ○×, he's probably causing trouble again over at that school."
Former student B: "Yeah, it's that ○× we're talking about after all."
...Scene shifts to Teacher ○×'s new school which looks totally like a delinquent school

...Theme song fades in. Then staff roll with all the highlights up to the ending.
