L'Arc's last concert at the Kokuritsu was the finale of their 20th Anniversary World Tour in 2012, which was attended by a total of 110,000 people over 2 days. This month's shows break that record as 1 day has an 80,000 crowd capacity, making it 160,000 in total.
Their previous concert had a marching band reminiscent of an Olympics opening ceremony, complete with the lighting of the Olympic torch, and had over 1,000 fireworks on display. The gimmicks for this month's shows are expected to surpass those of the previous one.
The concerts this month will be simulcast live in cinemas around Japan, as well as in England, France, the US, Mexico, Taiwan, and Hong Kong. Live viewing tickets will start to go on sale from the noon of the 16th onwards.
Uhmm... The perspective of the picture...
He's standing in front so they look like they're of the same height... or not
He's standing way out in front, huh ww
"Time to collect our money"
I wonder why they've opened such a huge gap with GLAY
Where did the band name L'Arc-en-Ciel come from?
These guys still have this many fans?
Wow, the server can handle that many ticket buyers?
Ahhh, I mistakenly bought a CD of theirs in the past.
This ain't rock. It's J-POP. It's Kayou-kyoku.
They're #1 among all the visual-kei bands, huh
Is it physically possible to hold 80,000 in that venue? Isn't that impossible?
Looks like selling tickets just a short time before the actual concert is becoming the main thing right now to prevent people from reselling them, huh
Totally ignoring the fire safety law
You've got a point
The fire safety law states that you should only let 50,000 people in a venue that only has 50,000 capacity.
Because the toilets and the emergency exits are all created for only 50,000 people.
GLAY and L'Arc were the pioneers of "rock-band style JPOP", huh.
GLAY aside, for some reason I absolutely hate L'Arc.
So the earnings will all go to hyde's expenses for VAMPS, huh
Are the majority of L'Arc concert-goers oldies who are over 30?
Even a guy would fall in love with him
The one on the right, I thought that was Samuragochi-san
Will people be able to see the vocalist on stage?
Maybe he'll just look like a grain of rice, or a speck of dust even.
Mr. >>157, please tell me!
I got tickets for 2 days.
I also got 2 days for MomoClo.
That's L'Arc for 'ya
They're still this popular?
They've lasted for such a long time, huh.
One of the rare bands that's actually growing in strength compared to before.
I just bought a BD-BOX of their concert
Was totally a girl when he was young
Anyone, please trade a ticket with the MomoClo ticket that I have.
You can go to both.
Is it true that this doesn't have a handshake ticket!?
I have no idea how they'll stuff 80,000 people in but that's amazing
Amazing stability of these bands which made waves in the '90s
That's 160,000 if you include the live viewing sales for various locations
It says in the article that live viewing tickets haven't gone on sale yet so there's no way that 160,000 includes that. It just means that they sold 160,000 tickets for the concert. That's amazing.
They're able to keep making a living thanks to their popularity from back in the day. But their spring of talent has already run dry, right?
Tickets 160,000 x 10,000 yen.
That's amazing sales for just a 2-day event.
And of course, there will be DVDs and Blu-Ray afterwards.
They're gonna stuff people in, even if they have to go against the law, huh!
That's "rock" for you!
They'd get mad when you call them V-kei, but they're close buds with V-kei peeps
I would've wanted to go if they released a new album, but the set list will just be the usual one, right?
I don't think they're planning on coming out with a new album anytime soon.
I got it! They're basing the count on people who are 156cm tall, so that's why they can let 80,000 people in! w
Why didn't they just sell 156K tickets?
How many for the past concert?
Does this mean that their older fans haven't abandoned them yet?
I think their general fanbase has changed.
They're regularly getting new, younger fans thanks to hyde's solo unit and their junior bands.
Damn~ I didn't get to buy one
