miwa to play the heroine in the movie "Maestro!"

It was revealed that miwa will be starring in the movie Maestro! which is slated for a 2015 release.

miwa herself announced this at the miwa spring concert 2014: Shibuya Monogatari ~Kan~ held at the Kokuritsu Yoyogi Kyogijō's 1st gymnasium. After performing her new song "Let me go" during the encore, she stopped and said: "There's something that I have to tell everyone", and surprised everyone in attendance after announcing that she will be in a movie. She continues, "I'll be balancing my musical activities and the filming of the movie. I have no experience at all in acting and I feel like I'll have my hands full with it, but I'm gonna give it my all!". 

Maestro! is a live action adaptation of Akira Saso's manga Maestro, where former members of an orchestra that had to disband due to their sponsor going bankrupt gather once again under a mysterious conductor and aim to perform once more at a recital. The young concert master will be played by Tori Matsuzaka, Toshiyuki Nishida will play the part of the conductor, and miwa will play the role of the heroine who is a flute player.

何がやりたいのかわからんな

ギター弾き語り系かと思ったら打ち込み音楽で歌ったり、ギター持ってる意味ほとんどないし

I have no clue as to what she wants to do. 
I initially thought that she'd be the singer-songwriter type, but she just sings songs backed up by digital desktop music, there's almost no point to that guitar of hers.

miwa has a higher academic background compared to YUI so I think she can act like how people want her to be -- a singer-songwriter type idol, as well as understanding all these "adult circumstances" that go on behind the scenes.

She even did a gravure cover for Spirits last year.
Her agency probably thought that it would be such a waste to limit such a bright and good-looking girl to music alone. That's that, but I wonder when she'll stop sporting these straight bangs that don't look good on her at all?

意外とうまいと思う

熱唱系だけがウタウマ認定されるのに疑問だからな

I think that her singing is actually pretty good as she suppresses herself quite nicely from time to time in her songs.
That's because I find it bewildering how the ones who just belt out powerful notes are being considered good singers.

I get this feeling that baseball club members can become those powerful singers with a little bit of training. Image-wise, it's more of a physical prowess than singing ability.

ポストYUIか。女優適応度ならmiwaのほうがあるかもしれないな。

身長は低いけど、全体的に小さいので画面上ではかわいく映るだろう。

顔もアイドルしているし。家入と若干かぶるから紅白レースは熾烈だ。

She may be small height-wise, but everything about her is so she'll still look cute on-screen.
Her face also looks like that of an idol.
But she and Ieiri are slightly similar, and they seem to be headed for a collision course as to who will be able to get on the Kouhaku.
