* Avant-garde artist Yayoi Kusama met with SMAP's Shingo Katori for the first time and praised Shingo's painting.

Kusama: "I have seen your drawing compilation 'Shingo no itazura' (released in 1998). I seriously thought that you would become a world-famous artist if you decided to be a painter."
"I feel the love coming out of your paintings. Painters would be too embarrassed to paint kissing scenes, like the one in your compilation, but you did them. I love all of your work".

ジミーちゃんは好きだけど、イラストレベル。

Among the celebrities who feel like artists, I think the one you can truly call an 'artist' is Takeshi. I like Jimmy-chan, but his paintings seem like mere illustrations.

He seems like Jimmy-chan.
And Tsuyoshi Domoto's illustrations are horrible. He's got no sense in comedy, but he doesn't seem to be aware of that.

色付けられたらジミーちゃんなんて軽く凌駕出来ると思うんだがｗ

When it comes to designing, King Kong Nishino is number 1. But he only draws using pencil. I think he can easily surpass the likes of Jimmy-chan when he adds color to these.

Katori seems to be doing a lot of different stuff. He does MC stuff on Saturday nights with that Chouju variety show. I think he'll take over the All Japan Kasoh Grand-Prix when Kinichi kicks the bucket. As an actor, he's done a retarded role, an invisible man, a ninja, a gag police officer. Then he paints.

Even Katori's painting was praised by Takashi Murakami on SmaSma. KimuTaku was so bad, he couldn't follow up properly.

昔電車をペイントしていたの見て、この人凄いと思った

ドラマでもファンだったけど、そういう方向性でいつも見ていた

コンサートの時に壁に無造作にペイントしたり、スマタイムズとか

しんごのいたずらなど、香取君の絵が本当に好き

When I saw the train he painted, I really thought that he was amazing. I was also a fan of his in dramas, but that's how I viewed him. He even paints on the wall at their concerts, on SmaTIMES and Shingo no Itazura... I really love the pictures that he draws.
