Child actress Mana Ashida (9) will be playing the lead role in the drama Ashita, mama ga inai (Mama won't be here tomorrow; Wednesdays-10 pm on NTV) beginning in January next year.
The story will be a touching drama about the children living in an orphanage after their parents left them for various reasons. Ashida will be starring alongside Rio Suzuki (8) who actually became an actress since she idolized Ashida.
Ashida will be playing the role of the "leader" among the orphans called "post" and comments: "This is a role that I haven't done yet, so I'm feeling nervous if I'll be able to portray it well, and I'm also looking forward to the challenge".
Suzuki who played the daughter in Hikari Mitsushima's Woman comments: "I'll be together with my idol Mana-chan, it's like a dream, I'm really excited. I'm truly happy". "We hope to make a series that will last in everyone's hearts".
The producer Yuta Fukui comments: "The lead in this drama are the children. We will be taking this ubiquitous theme of "love between parents and children", but will be focusing on it from the perspective of the children. I want people to be able to say that this drama is the biggest tear-jerker in the 21st century once it's finished".
Something like Yumi Adachi's Ie naki ko?
Ashida-sensei probably won't talk to the other children on the set
I'm looking forward to this
When I saw Mana Ashida's picture in >>1
"This girl's not a child actress anymore, she's already an actress".
Rio-chan's cuteness stands out
Looks like Tomomi Kahara
This Suzuki girl, she looks like Nozomi Ohashi
Does everyone really want to cry?
The problem with Mana Ashida is that she's too perfect as a child actress, she'll just stick out like a sore thumb when she's around other children
Ashida-sensei has really become beautiful
Average 8%, I guess.
I don't think people will have any interest in old-fashioned Shinji Nojima-like dramas these days.
So Mana Ashida will play the role of the mother?
Ashida-PRO is coming back to her time slot of Wednesday-10 on NTV so this is exciting.
My concerns here are the scriptwriter and Shohei Miura who'll be starring alongside her.
Mana-chan's such an ikemen.
Rather, just how amazing is she to show this much of a distinctive presence at her age? w
おまいら ハリウッド女優 ひれ伏せ
You guys, bow down to the Hollywood actress
Fuku-san: "Mana-chan, any plans for tonight?"

2014 January-March season, Wednesday-10 pm drama
NTV- Ashita, mama ga inai - Mana Ashida, Rio Suzuki, Shohei Miura, Fumina Kimura
FUJI- Boku no ita jikan - Haruma Miura, Mikako Tabe, Takumi Saitoh, Mizuki Yamamoto
She looks like Nozomi Ohashi-chan...
Ashida-PRO doesn't look good with her hair up like that. She's much cuter with bangs
They're so disrespectful to Pro, how can they just say that she's collaborating with some child actress!?
Looks like we'll see another struggle for 3% ratings w
What's with this sense of dignity wwww
She's really something else since she's already in her 2nd round in life.
This kind of drama again? w
They really rinse and repeat these things that become hits, huh.
The other girl also looks calculating in her own right, but she's just a kid in front of Ashida-PRO
If it's Mana-chan, I think she can even play a grandmother role.
There's no doubt that she'll also be having some steamy scenes in the future.
It feels more like
Mana Ashida (9) (34)
Pacific Rim was good
Mana-chan's cute with her hair tied up like that
I'm so surprised as to how beautiful Ashida-san has become.
And her perfect comments and answers, as expected.
Similar type of drama again
Too bad, her monotonous character in Liar Game was a minus point for her, though
I want Ashida-PRO to move to the US and become a Hollywood star
Mana Ashida must have a bad personality.
Her face has become so mean-looking.
It's you who has a bad personality
I heard that Ashida will be playing a role that will get pregnant
Mana-chan should be doing more comedy roles.
I don't really like the idea of making her do all these dragging and heavy stories just because she's a good actress.
But I'll still watch it.
This will look like it'll be a hit
Oh no, I'll cry again while watching Mana-chan
So the old and new genius child actors will finally be collaborating, huh.
This will definitely be fun.
I'm looking forward to it.
