Actress Ai Kato (30) will be getting married to a non-personality (37) who's a company executive. They have been friends for a couple of years, and just this spring, their friendship blossomed into romance. They will be submitting their marriage contract on November 22, the "ii fufu no hi" (good married couple's day).
Kato comments on her partner as: "a cute teddy bear-like person who makes me feel cozy." She continues: "I've really been happy these days. I hope this goes on forever".
According to Kato: "He has a distinct face, and is like a cute teddy bear", and is a sports enthusiast who does boxing and triathlons. The couple have a lot of common friends, but they only got close to one another this year.
Kato met him by chance while she was in New York to study language while he was there for work early this yea. They got to talk to each other more which bridged the gap between them. Both love to dine and to travel, and "dining" was apparently the deciding factor for their going out with one another.
Kato reveals that when she said: "I want to eat soondubu jjigae, but I'm not feeling too good so I might opt for samgyetang instead". He told her, "Then let's have both". She explains that "I really love food tripping so much, I can hop from one restaurant to another. So when I saw that we were alike in that respect, it made me really happy".
When Kato came back to Japan in spring, he asked if they could go out with marriage in mind, and they started to go steady from there. They were even photographed together in October by a tabloid.

The man proposed to Kato in August on the seashore in Hawaii. Kato happily accepted his proposal, as they will be submitting their marriage certificate on Novemver 22. They are planning to hold their marriage ceremony sometime after spring next year. Kato isn't pregnant, and will still continue with her career as an actress.
"I'm happy whenever we eat at home together, have a drink, and talk about a variety of things. I hope that lasts forever. I want 1 or 2 children as well."
